With Super Badges 3DS you can turn any PNG or JPG image into custom 3DS badges. The editor automatically adjusts scaling to the official 64×64 pixel format with alpha transparency, offers interactive tools for single cropping and panoramic banner slicing, and exports everything into a ready-to-install ZIP package for [Anemone3DS](https://github.com/astronautlevel2/Anemone3DS) or [ThemePlaza](https://themeplaza.art).
Yes, Custom Firmware is required since Nintendo Badge Arcade official servers are closed. If your console is not yet modded, the process is completely safe, free, and very straightforward following the official step-by-step guide at [3ds.hacks.guide](https://3ds.hacks.guide/). You only need an SD card and about 15 minutes to install [Luma3DS](https://github.com/LumaTeam/Luma3DS) and the [Anemone3DS](https://github.com/astronautlevel2/Anemone3DS) badge manager.
You have two methods: 1) Scan the public QR code generated by Super Badges 3DS directly with the [Anemone3DS](https://github.com/astronautlevel2/Anemone3DS) camera by pressing the R button (completely wireless). 2) Or download the ZIP file and copy it to the /Badges/ folder on your SD card. In Anemone, hold L or tap the badges icon, highlight your pack, and press A to install.
Badge ZIP archives must be placed in the /Badges/ directory at the root of your SD card (for example: SD:/Badges/MyPack.zip). If the 'Badges' folder does not exist yet, you can create it manually with that exact name.
Once installed via Anemone, badges become available in the official Nintendo menu: 1. On your 3DS touch screen, tap the wrench icon (HOME Menu Settings in the top-left corner). 2. Tap 'Decorate with badges' to open the official badge case. 3. Drag any badge with your stylus onto an empty grid tile or over any folder.
The official Nintendo 3DS operating system limit is 1,000 badges in the HOME Menu badge case. You can create multiple thematic packs in Super Badges 3DS and swap between them seamlessly with Anemone without losing any data.
Yes. The editor includes a powerful Banner Mode that automatically slices panoramic artwork into an adjacent badge grid (e.g., 3×1 or 4×2). When placed next to each other on your Nintendo 3DS touch screen, they reconstruct a seamless panoramic display.
Yes. By defining the 48×48 px preview set icon and clicking 'Export ThemePlaza ZIP', the generated ZIP package strictly complies with all specifications and directory structures required by the themeplaza.art community platform.
No. You can use the entire editor anonymously and completely free to design packs and export ZIP or JSON backup files. Creating an account is only needed if you wish to store projects in the cloud or generate public QR codes for wireless installation.
